Plan, prepare, and coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities leading to project completion. Develop and ensure adherence to a detailed commissioning schedule and plan, covering all aspects of pre-commissioning and start-up phases through to handover. Prepare and/or update a comprehensive commissioning manual. Develop a reporting structure and accountabilities for the commissioning team. Plan and coordinate the commissioning/start-up schedule and necessary work with third-party providers. Develop pre-commissioning test procedures and documentation, correct any deficiencies found, and ensure compliance with progress reports in accordance with client and legislative requirements. Liaise with government agencies to obtain necessary approvals prior to start-up. Prepare client acceptance forms and ensure satisfactory sign-off. Develop comprehensive quality, environment, and safety commissioning plans.

Role: A Specialist Professional (P4) is a recognized subject matter expert in the job area, typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities include managing large projects or processes with limited oversight, coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower-level professionals. The problems faced are difficult and often complex.

Offshore Wind Farm Project - Commissioning Manager

Responsibilities:

• Manage commissioning activities for projects within the Transmission Substation and Wind Farm substation industries.
• Prepare project commissioning documentation, including schedules, inspection and test plans, and test procedures.
• Act as the single point of contact with the Project Commissioning team to coordinate activities with clients and third parties.
• Oversee and support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for substation projects.
• Ensure compliance with Client EHS and Quality Policies and project specifications.
• Provide regular reports to the Project Manager, Project Director, and Customer on safety, quality, time, and cost performance.

Background:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, policies, procedures, and practices.
• Experience in site commissioning management, including safe systems of work, LV permits, and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Experience planning and executing site commissioning activities for LV and HV equipment up to 400kV.
• Understanding of offshore wind farm construction, commissioning phases, and UK grid procedures.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements and CDM regulations.
• Experience developing commissioning programmes and procedures.
• Knowledge of Grid code and OFTO with proven experience.
• Strong communication skills, safety awareness, motivation, and team spirit. Willingness to travel internationally.

Extra Information:

• Initial 6-12 months contract, potential extension until October 2028.
• Potential international trips to EU and UK site visits.
• Work environment includes working from home with occasional meetings or site visits.
• Workload may involve supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
