Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking an Offshore Rope Access Level I Combo Welder to supervise, plan and execute rope access tasks on offshore platforms. You will lead inspections, maintenance, repairs, blasting, painting and rigging, and assist welding while using rope access techniques.

Ideal candidates hold a SPRAT or IRATA Level I certification, have 1+ year rope access experience and 2+ years offshore welding, and can pass pre-employment checks including drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as a Rope Access Level I Technician
• 2+ years experience in offshore welding
• Active SPRAT or IRATA Level I Certification
• Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Pass background check
• Must possess a valid TWIC card
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead rope access inspections, maintenance, repairs, blasting, painting and rigging
• Weld on offshore platforms using rope access techniques
• Develop and implement rope access work plans and risk assessments
• Conduct on-site safety briefings and training
• Prepare detailed reports and maintain equipment records
• Identify hazards and ensure safe, compliant worksites
• Coordinate with other departments to align project objectives
