Job summary

Gulf Island Offshore is seeking an Offshore Rope Access Level I Combo Welder to supervise, plan and execute rope access operations on offshore platforms, including inspections, upkeep, repairs, blasting, painting, rigging and welding. The role requires 1+ years as a Rope Access Level I Technician, 2+ years offshore welding, and active SPRAT or IRATA Level I certification.

You will work outdoors in varying conditions, abide by safety protocols and report on-site findings.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as a Rope Access Level I Technician
• 2+ years offshore welding experience
• Active SPRAT or IRATA Level I Certification
• Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• TWIC card required

Responsibilities

• Supervise rope access technicians in inspections, maintenance, and repairs on offshore platforms
• Lead welding tasks using rope access techniques
• Develop rope access work plans and risk assessments
• Enforce safety procedures and proper equipment inspections
• Conduct on-site safety briefings and trainings
• Prepare detailed reports and maintain equipment records
