Job summary

Occidental Petroleum Corporation in Houston is seeking a Reliability Engineer - Offshore Operations to lead reliability improvements for offshore production, utility, and safety systems. This role emphasizes data-driven analysis, RCA/RCFA investigations, and the implementation of predictive maintenance and asset-integrity initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Marine, Reliability, or a related engineering discipline.
5–10 years of offshore oil and gas or related industry experience.
Experience applying reliability engineering methodologies and RCFA.
Working knowledge of rotating and fixed equipment systems.
Proficiency with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) or CMMS.

Responsibilities

Monitor equipment performance, reliability trends, and maintenance effectiveness across offshore assets.
Develop reliability strategies for production, utility, and safety systems.
Identify bad actors and recurring failures via data-driven analysis.
Establish reliability KPIs: MTBF, MTTR, availability, and maintenance compliance.
Lead RCFA investigations for significant failures and outages.
Support planning and execution of shutdowns and major maintenance campaigns.
