Job summary

Genesis Energy, L.P. is seeking a Mate for offshore marine vessels based in Houston, TX. The Mate is responsible for the safe operation of the vessel and its tow, including navigation, piloting, seaworthiness, and crew safety.

Responsibilities include managing bridge operations, supervising deck crew, and maintaining good charterer relations while upholding safety, environmental and cargo protection. Required licenses and documents are listed below.

Qualifications

• Must possess U.S. Merchant Mariner's document and STCW certification.
• Must possess the proper USCG license for vessel type/tonnage.
• Must possess a FCC Marine Radio Operators Permit.
• English reading/writing required; Spanish preferred.
• TWIC card and valid driver's license are required.

Responsibilities

• Safe piloting, navigation, and maintenance of the vessel and its tow.
• Bridge management and paperwork as directed by Master/Relief Master.
• Direct and supervise the deck crew in their duties.
• Maintain courteous, professional relationships with charterers while prioritizing safety and environmental protection.
• Complete bridge management and human resource administrative tasks.
