Job summary

Centerline Logistics Corporation is seeking a Tugboat Mate in Channelview, Texas. As the third in command of the tug, you will assist the Captain with all operations, ensuring the safety of the vessel and compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate should hold a valid Mate Coast Guard license and have experience in marine operations. This role demands effective communication skills and the ability to work in varying weather conditions and schedules.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Mate Coast Guard license 200 GT near Coastal or Oceans with radar observer endorsement.
• Previous experience as a Mate or Master of a tug hauling oil barges is preferred.
• Must be able to read, speak, and understand English over telephone and/or radio.
• Must be self-motivated and able to respond quickly to emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Stand watch with the Captain and Chief Mate beyond the sea buoy.
• Oversee vessel safety, including equipment inspections.
• Safely handle lines and wires for mooring operations.
• Assist Captain in barge landings and communicate directions clearly.

Completion of Coast Guard approved firefighting training
