Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Marine Electrical Engineer to support at-sea space hardware recovery operations. You will install, checkout, and troubleshoot mission critical electrical and RF communication systems on offshore platforms and vessels during launch and recovery phases, author procedures, and lead field activations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and hands-on experience with high voltage systems, RF, sensors, and data acquisition.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in complex electrical, RF, or network communication systems.
• Experience developing procedures for maintenance on critical electrical systems.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting high voltage AC/DC systems and PLCs.
• Knowledge of sensors for measurement applications (pressure, temp, displacement, etc.).
• Proficient use of test equipment to troubleshoot electronics issues (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer).
• Experience with fiber terminations and serial communications (RS232/RS485/RS485)

Responsibilities

• Support installation and checkout of mission critical electrical and RF communications.
• Manage offshore electrical and network communication systems in real-time during launches and recoveries.
• Verify requirements and specifications through bench tests and field testing.
• Author automated sequences and control room operator panels.
• Create activation, checkout, operations, and maintenance procedures.
• Conduct hazardous remote operations and direct technicians in the field.
