Job summary

D&S Marine Service is seeking Experienced Deckhands to join the crew in South Louisiana. Responsibilities include securing barges, handling rigging, and keeping vessels in top condition for safe passage through locks along the Lower Mississippi River and Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.

Shifts follow a rotation of 28/14 or 20/10 days, offering a structured schedule and competitive day rates. Candidates must have prior deckhand experience and be comfortable working in a marine environment.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is required.
  • Previous deckhand experience is required.
  • Ability to secure barges and handle rigging is required.
  • Comfortable working in a marine environment.

Responsibilities

  • Secure barges and assist with rigging.
  • Perform vessel upkeep to maintain safety and readiness.
  • Ensure safe navigation through locks and docking areas.

D&S Marine Service, a family-owned inland marine transportation company, is hiring Experienced Deckhands to join their crew in South Louisiana. This role involves securing barges, handling rigging, vessel upkeep, and ensuring safe navigation through locks. Candidates must have prior deckhand experience and be comfortable working on the Lower Mississippi River and Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.

Shifts consist of either 28 days on/14 days off or 20 days on/10 days off, making this an excellent opportunity for those seeking a structured work rotation.
