Qualifications

  • Must be 18 or older to board a vessel
  • Must meet all physical qualifications per company guidelines
  • TWIC or able to attain TWIC
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English
  • Must be able to handle and lift rigging (up to 75–100 lbs)
  • Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

Marquette Transportation Company Gulf-Inland, LLC is seeking Deckhands to join their team operating on the Mississippi River System, Gulf-Intracoastal Waterway, and near-shore coastwise market. Deckhands are responsible for building and checking tows, handling rigging, and maintaining vessel cleanliness. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy physical outdoor work and are able to be away from home for extended periods. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically fit, and eager to work in a marine environment.

What You'll Need
  • Ability to be away for periods of time (schedules are generally 28 days away and 14 days home)
  • Must be 18 or older to board a vessel
  • Must be able to meet all physical qualifications per company guidelines
  • Must have Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or be able to attain it
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language
  • Must be able to handle and lift rigging (up to 75 lbs-100lbs)
  • Reliable transportation
