Job summary

Panthalassa seeks an Offshore Technician, Communications to support a North Pacific pilot fleet deployed off the Oregon Coast. Initial focus is on operating and repairing offshore communications hardware, with cross-training across disciplines to scale training capacity internationally.

This hands-on role requires offshore experience, travel up to 50% of the year, and eventual training of crews overseas as the program expands.

Qualifications

• Experience working offshore for extended periods.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience operating and repairing communications equipment in marine/offshore environments.
• Willingness to lead training and participate in cross-disciplinary training.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the year offshore.
• Holder of active TWIC or ability to obtain.
• Commitment to a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for deployment, recovery, and repair of a North Pacific pilot fleet, with initial focus on communications.
• Operate, maintain, and repair offshore communications hardware and software, including radio protocols and satellite links.
• Participate in cross-training with mechanical, hydraulic, deck operations, and other disciplines.
• Train team members on communications hardware, software, and theory.
• Work with engineering to commission and test new equipment and improve offshore operations.
• Travel overseas to train crews internationally on new operations.
• Assist in maintenance of owned equipment.
• Travel to Portland, Oregon-base operations as needed.
