Job summary

Panthalassa, based in the Pacific Northwest, seeks an Electronics Engineering Technician to build, rework, test, and maintain the electrical hardware used in our ocean-energy nodes. This on-site role requires hands-on work with circuit cards, cable harnesses, sensors, and power systems.

You will document results, develop clear work instructions, and support engineers with hardware integration and field readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience building, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting PCBs.
• 3+ years as an engineering technician or equivalent hands-on electronics role.
• Experience with high-voltage electronics and cable assemblies.
• Experience with environmental qualification and testing of electronic hardware.
• Familiarity with ESD controls and following detailed work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Build, rework, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot analog and digital electronics, including through-hole and surface-mount assemblies.
• Assemble depth-rated enclosures, bulkhead wiring, cable harnesses, sensors, microcontrollers, and power systems into integrated networks.
• Perform high-skill soldering, component replacement, board bring-up, and low-volume PCB assembly and rework.
• Test and inspect externally built PCBs and sensor systems for defects or performance issues.
• Support hardware integration with engineers, including initial flashing, provisioning, and troubleshooting of microcontroller and IoT systems.
• Maintain organization of electronics work areas, including inventory and labeling.
• Prepare and kit electronic hardware for off-site operations in remote locations.
• Create and maintain clear records, work instructions, test results, and inventory information.
