Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking an Offshore Technician, Communications to support our pilot fleet deployed off the Oregon Coast, operating, maintaining, and repairing offshore communications hardware and software.

Initially you will focus on communications, with a plan to cross-train across disciplines and train crews internationally once pilots are demonstrated, traveling up to 50% offshore and 300+ miles offshore.

Qualifications

Experience offshore for extended periods.
Hands-on experience operating and repairing communications equipment in a marine/offshore/remote environment.
Willingness to lead and participate in cross-disciplinary training.
Ability to travel up to 50% of year offshore.
Ability to travel 300+ miles offshore.
Holder of active TWIC or able to obtain.
Adhere to safety culture.
Understanding of basic AC and DC electrical theory.
Exposure to mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
Experience in fabrication and commissioning of new equipment.
Experience interfacing with engineering teams.
Experience operating and maintaining PLC systems.

Responsibilities

Provide support for deployment, recovery, and repair of a North Pacific pilot fleet, focusing initially on communications.
Cross-train across disciplines to expand team capacity and train crews overseas.
Operate, maintain, and repair offshore communications hardware/software, including radio, satellite, and networking.
Train other team members on communications hardware, software, and theory.
Work with engineering to commission and test equipment for offshore operations.
Travel abroad to train crews internationally on novel operations.
