Job description

Quad is currently seeking an experienced Second Press Operator for our Winchester, VA location. This position will set-up, operate, and maintain the press and auxiliary equipment related to the press. The Press Operator will direct the activities of the press crew with assigned tasks during downtime and make-ready periods. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Make-ready and operate press based on written instructions provided.
2. Establish and maintain color, fold, and mechanical quality to BPC standards.
3. Continuously monitor product for quality and approve or reject as necessary.
4. Direct and coordinate activities of assigned crew members.
5. Perform make-ready duties.
6. Complete general maintenance and lubrication assignments.
7. Complete required documentation, electronic and paper, for assigned jobs.
8. Perform duties of other Print Service manufacturing positions as needed, following requisite training.
9. Provide training for employees to ensure coverage and prepare them for future positions.
10. Follow all safety policies and regulations; report hazards, near-misses, or accidents immediately.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to work irregular schedules, including rotating day/night shifts.
• Ability to maintain close attention to detail for extended periods.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed for production.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Physical ability to lift 10-15 pounds continuously and up to 70 pounds occasionally, stand long hours, and use hand and wrist movements in a controlled manner. Must be able to identify defects visually.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts from 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
