As an Office Specialist, you will:
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers via phone and walk-ins.
  • Execute the full cycle of selling and processing parking permits, answer customer questions, and provide information relative to Parking & Transit Services.
  • Address customer concerns by trying to find workable solutions or answers to individual parking issues, listening to complaints, offering a suggestion form, and/or notify the appropriate supervisor.
  • Prepare to open the office and maintain the front lobby and supply cabinet.
  • Collect and process customer payments, generate and reconcile consolidated billing charges and credits.
  • Assist with generating and processing payroll deductions, and perform data entry, research, and filing for customer information.
  • Collect parking citations and impoundment fines, issue bus passes, and process departmental mail.
  • Attend the Parking Advisory Committee meetings to record minutes and audio.
  • Train temporary employees and student workers.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service, using technology, and handling payments.
  • Competency with computers, physical and digital filing systems, and typing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to adapt well to change.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Professionalism and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Office Administration, or related field of study.
  • 3+ years of experience in customer service, using technology, and handling payments.
  • Familiar with SAP.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
