Pay Range

This range is provided by NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

$68,339.00/yr - $102,166.00/yr

The selected candidate(s) will be offered a salary between $76,301.00 - $99,190.00.

Position Details

The position is only open to candidates who are permanent (not provisional) in the civil service title of Administrative Manager (NM).

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.

The Division of Family Court Legal Services (FCLS) primarily represents ACS in child neglect and abuse cases, permanency hearings, juvenile delinquency hearings, and other child welfare proceedings. FCLS attorneys work with ACS staff and stakeholders to serve children, youth, and families.

Duties
  • Oversee daily operations of the Brooklyn FCLS offices, including supervising clerical staff.
  • Supervise and train clerical support staff.
  • Manage inventory of office supplies and legal reference books.
  • Handle facilities issues and liaise with custodial staff.
  • Coordinate with ACS’ Office of Information and Technology for technology needs.
  • Monitor office equipment and coordinate maintenance.
  • Coordinate legal document processing and office logistics.
  • Manage fiscal responsibilities, including petty cash and reimbursements.
  • Ensure timely processing of legal documents with Process Server.
  • Oversee postal needs and court billing processes.
  • Supervise storage of closed files.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree and four years of full-time clerical/administrative experience, with 18 months in a supervisory role, OR
  • Associate degree or 60 credits and five years of similar experience, OR
  • High school diploma and six years of similar experience, OR
  • Equivalent education/experience with the required supervisory experience.
