Job summary

Tectonic Engineering seeks a full-time Office Engineer in Glastonbury, CT to support upcoming infrastructure projects. You'll prepare and manage project docs, assist with submittals and pay estimates, and ensure contract compliance while working with ConnDOT systems. A background in civil engineering and DOT project exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years relevant experience; ConnDOT or similar DOT exp on federally funded projects preferred.
• BS degree in Civil Engineering/equivalent or NICET Level II or higher preferred.
• Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations and review plans/specs.
• Ability to prepare change orders, material testing reports, and maintain project records.
• Experience administering projects using Site Manager and/or ProjectWise.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project documentation and correspondence using ConnDOT filing systems.
• Review requirements, plans, specifications, and contract document hierarchy.
• Process submittals, RFIs, memos, letters, inspection reports, estimates, and drawings.
• Prepare contractor pay estimates and monitor quantities.
• Track compliance items (subcontracts, wage checks, insurance, labor reports).
• Perform site inspections to obtain field measurements and review records.
• Attend meetings and prepare meeting minutes; perform related duties.
