Job summary

Atlas is seeking an experienced Office Engineer to support the Curbside Improvement Program. The role provides wide-ranging technical and administrative duties, including submittal management and RFI oversight, supporting project management activities in a fast-paced airport environment.

Ideal candidates bring strong design-construction lifecycle knowledge, proven communication skills, and experience with PM Web and related tools. This is a salaried, full-time position based on 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience on airport projects preferred.
  • Experience with Design Bid Build, CMAR, and Design-Build delivery methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the program in receipt, distribution, and maintenance of submittals.
  • Input data into PM Web and prepare management reports.
  • Maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web.
  • Maintain project files and document submittal management systems.
  • Collaborate with Contractors to ensure drawings are posted timely.
  • Document project meetings and prepare agendas and minutes.

Job Description

The CTA Curbside Improvement Program reports to CTA Curbside Improvement Project Manager and is responsible for assisting the CTA Curbside Improvement Project Manager with managing the scope schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for the CTA Curbside Improvement Program. The CTA Curbside Improvement Program focuses on the Arrivals curbside area around the entire CTA from entry doors of the terminals out to the outer island pick up zone. The scope of the project encompasses a comprehensive range of improvements from curbside out to the garage facades and the landscape zones in between. It is intended to enhance the look and feel of LAX and reflect a modern safe and iconic vision of our airport. These combined efforts aim to elevate the overall passenger and visitor experience while adhering to stringent safety security and sustainability standards.


Position Description Summary

The CTA Curbside Improvement Program Office Engineer provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management as well as construction management support. Supports the project management team project manager assistant PM construction manager design manager etc.

Essential Job Duties


  • Assist the CTA Curbside Improvement Program in the receipt distribution and maintenance of submittals

  • Perform construction contract correspondence document and plan control function input data into PM Web and prepare management information status report as required

  • Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web the project information system

  • Maintain project files and document submittal management systems hard and electronic copies

  • Work with the Contractors to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner

  • Distribute documents submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responsesreview comments obtain management approval and issue responses to Contractors

  • Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings

  • Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as attend and document project meetings write agendas and minutes perform expediting functions and prepare and maintain an expediting log; etc


HardwareSoftware Knowledge

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and BluebeamAbility to work in PM Web preferred


Professional Experience Level

Other Qualifications 5 years or more experience preferably on airport projectsExperience with projects more than 50 million in valueExperience with various delivery methods including Design Bid Build DesignCMAR and DesignBuildExcellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations


EducationTraining

Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or other related field requiredOptional certifications may include AAAE LEED PE PMP AICP etc or any other relevant professional license or certifications
