Job summary

Atlas is seeking an Office Engineer to support the CTA Curbside Improvement Program at LAX. The role encompasses submittal control, RFI management, and coordination with design and construction teams to ensure timely processing and documentation in PM Web and related systems.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in airport or large-scale infrastructure projects, with strong communication skills and experience with various delivery methods.

Qualifications

  • Five years or more of experience, preferably on airport projects.
  • Experience with projects valued at $50M+.
  • Familiarity with Design-Bid-Build, Design-CM/AR, and Design-Build delivery methods.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CTA Curbside Improvement Program with submittals, RFIs, and document control.
  • Input data into PM Web and prepare management status reports.
  • Maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in the project information system.
  • Support project team and attend meetings, prepare agendas and minutes.

The CTA Curbside Improvement Program reports to CTA Curbside Improvement Project Manager and is responsible for assisting the CTA Curbside Improvement Project Manager with managing the scope schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for the CTA Curbside Improvement Program The CTA Curbside Improvement Program focuses on the Arrivals curbside area around the entire CTA from entry doors of the terminals out to the outer island pick up zone The scope of the project encompasses a comprehensive range of improvements from curbside out to the garage facades and the landscape zones in between It is intended to enhance the look and feel of LAX and reflect a modern safe and iconic vision of our airport These combined efforts aim to elevate the overall passenger and visitor experience while adhering to stringent safety security and sustainability standards.

Position Description Summary

The CTA Curbside Improvement Program Office Engineer provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information RFI management as well as construction management support Supports the project management team project manager assistant PM construction manager design manager etc.

  • Maintaining an excellent working relationship with the design and construction professionals geared towards open communications and mutual problem solving in the best interest of the project and all other par es involved
  • Contributing to a high level of team morale through professionalism that reflects well on the project team external stakeholders and LAWAinternal stakeholders
Essential Job Duties
  • Assist the CTA Curbside Improvement Program in the receipt distribution and maintenance of submittals
  • Perform construction contract correspondence document and plan control function input data into PM Web and prepare management information status report as required
  • Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web the project information system
  • Maintain project files and document submittal management systems hard and electronic copies
  • Work with the Contractors to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Distribute documents submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responsesreview comments obtain management approval and issue responses to Contractors
  • Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings
  • Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as attend and document project meetings write agendas and minutes perform expediting functions and prepare and maintain an expediting log; etc
Hardware/Software Knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Ability to work in PM Web preferred
Professional Experience Level and Other Qualifications
  • 5 years or more experience preferably on airport projects
  • Experience with projects more than 50 million in value
  • Experience with various delivery methods including Design Bid Build DesignCMAR and DesignBuild
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or other related field required
  • Optional certifications may include AAAE LEED PE PMP AICP etc or any other relevant professional license or certifications

Equipment and Working Hours

LAWA will provide a desktop computer that can be VPNd into or a laptop computer.

Consultant MUST have a company provided laptop computer. This is required for company business and to VPN into LAWA system when away from the office as necessary.

Cell phone provided by consultant is required. This is NOT a work from home position.

This is a salaried position based on 40 hours per week at the applicable all in labor rate.

This is a Monday Friday full time position in the office or on the project site at LAX. After hours or weekend work may be required to perform the duties of the position This shall be considered part of the salary.

About the Job

Career Level Associate. Employment Type Full time. Compensation 93600 125000 annual salary. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the states law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
