Job summary

PACO Group is seeking an Office Engineer to support administration, coordination, and documentation of construction projects in the United States. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in engineering, construction management, or a construction office environment.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, project documentation, and office engineering practices.
  • Proficiency with project management/document-control software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, teamwork, problem-solving ability, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, organize, and distribute project documents, including plans, schedules, reports, correspondence, and related construction documentation.
  • Maintain project records, logs, and document-control systems to ensure information is accurate, complete, organized, and readily accessible.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders regarding project information, documentation, and status updates.
  • Manage and track submittals, RFIs, and change orders, ensuring timely routing, responses, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to identify discrepancies, conflicts, constructability concerns, and potential project issues.
  • Assist with preparation and tracking of project correspondence, reports, meeting documentation, and other project records.
  • Support project quality-control and documentation requirements throughout construction.
  • Coordinate with field personnel to ensure office engineering activities remain aligned with construction progress, field conditions, and project milestones.

Job description

Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of construction processes, project documentation, and office engineering practices.
  • Proficiency with project management/document-control software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, teamwork, problem-solving ability, and follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting major infrastructure, transportation, transit, heavy civil, or public works construction projects.
  • Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawings, specifications, and other construction documentation.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, consultants, and field personnel.
  • Familiarity with electronic document management and project controls systems.

Compensation

Good-faith compensation rate range is around $45-$55 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, technical expertise, and client requirements.
