Job Description:

Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for afull-time Office Coordinator, Student Accessibility Services.

  • Location:F&M Campus -Lancaster, PA
  • Classification:Full-time, Non-Exempt
  • Schedule:40 hours, Monday - Friday.
  • Reports to: Assistant Director of Accessibility Services
  • Department: Accessibility Services
  • Approved Hourly Rate:$20.14/hour

Job Description:

The Office Coordinator of Student Accessibility Services provides effective administrative support of the Office of Student Accessibility Services. Responsibilities include coordinating day-to-day operations, primarily interacting with students, their parents, faculty, and professional staff colleagues. The SAS Office Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring that student accommodation letters are sent in a timely fashion. This position is responsible for proctoring student testing and reporting any academic misconduct to the Dean of Students.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Student Accessibility Services. This work includes creating accommodation letters, sending reminders about important semester deadlines, and responding to inquiries about services offered. Must schedule makeup exams and communicate with faculty about the timing of these tests. Responsible for reading and responding to emails through the Student Accessibility Services email address.
  • Coordinate with students and faculty to arrange for exam accommodations and proctoring. Provide test proctoring for students using the SAS testing room for tests during the academic year, as well as midterms and final exams.
  • Hiring and supervising student note takers, which includes completing Student Employment Action Forms when necessary, recruiting student note takers, confirming that they are submitting timely notes, and ensuring they are paid for their notes at the conclusion of each semester.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the SAS office to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and on time. This work includes greeting students and visitors, as well as responding to email and phone inquiries from students, parents, faculty, administration, and prospective students.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • At least 1 year of relevant administrative/clerical experience.
  • Experience with Accommodate (or other disability services) software programs.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
  • Evidence of a commitment to community and belonging.
  • Successful interview.
  • Successful completion of background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3 or more years of relevant administrative/clerical experience.
  • Direct experience in an office of Accessibility Services.
Additional Information:

Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of reference checks, a criminal background verification, and verification of credentials. The College will coordinate these verifications.
