Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part Time Office Coordinator in Alpena, MI. The role supports daily office operations, coordinates calendars, processes deposits and receipts, and maintains records and donor acknowledgments.

29 hours per week with benefits per program. The ideal candidate has a college degree or equivalent experience, at least 2 years in an office setting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and SharePoint.

Qualifications

  • College degree required, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • 2 years’ experience working in an office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and direct visitors
  • Maintain master calendar and room usage for programs and events
  • Maintain files and records, prepare emails
  • Attend meetings and record minutes as requested
  • Complete statistical data and reporting as needed
  • Accurately enter financial data in a timely manner
  • Process and track paperwork, forms, etc. for deposits, program fees and payment of approved expenses
  • Process daily collections and deposit funds
  • Safeguard financial and material donations
  • Create, track, and give appropriate acknowledgement of gifts and activities
  • Be familiar with and up to date with all corps events, programs, and services
  • Perform orientation with each volunteer including review of written job description, Safe from Harm materials, policies, and procedures for their assignment
  • Coordinate building rentals with corps officer / community center director
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Welcome and direct visitors

  • Maintain strict confidentiality

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
  • Willingness to learn new software as needed

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)

Part Time (29 hours)

  • Paid Time Off which includes:
  • Sick days begin accruing the first of the month following 30 days of employment and you may begin to use accrued sick days once available.
  • Up to (6) earned sick days per year may be used as discretionary days.
  • Vacation begins accruing the first of the month after one full calendar month after employment begins, and you may begin to use vacation days after (90) days of employment.
  • The accrual rate is based upon years of service and approved hours worked.
  • You will receive up to 2 personal days per year based on date of hire.
  • Birthday off with pay.
  • Paid holidays are effective immediately
