Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR seeks an Assistant Project Manager in Owings Mills, MD to support project execution from award through closeout. The role partners with Project Managers and field leadership to keep projects organized, on schedule, and compliant with contract requirements.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on construction experience who wants to grow into project management, or an early-career PM with a metals/structural trades interest.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of construction industry experience.
• Background in miscellaneous metals, railings, stairs, structural steel, or architectural metalwork is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in day-to-day coordination of projects from initiation through closeout.
• Assist with takeoffs and scope verification for all projects.
• Set up new project structures in Procore based on project type.
• Coordinate with accounting on client billing and insurance documentation.
• Assist in building preliminary project schedules in Procore.
• Review project budgets with the PM to understand material and labor needs.
• Generate RFIs as required.
• File permits and track progress; coordinate with detailing teams and clients.
• Verify stock materials and allocate inventory to projects.
• Source materials, issue RFQs to vendors, and negotiate pricing.
• Generate and manage purchase orders with lead times and deliveries.
• Prepare project kit lists and delegate processing.
• Prepare and submit change orders for client approval.
• Maintain project documentation and correspondence in Procore.
• Monitor timelines and identify delays or scope gaps.
• Provide weekly project updates to clients.
• Support closeout documents including as-builts, warranties, lien releases.
