Job summary

Interstate Batteries in San Diego, CA is seeking an Office Associate to manage front desk duties, phones, paperwork, and general accounting. This role supports distributor operations with a focus on accuracy and timely processing.

Responsibilities include handling accounts payable and receivable, monthly closes, deposits, inventory counts, and providing excellent customer service both in person and by phone. Some college is preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of administrative support experience in a warehouse or retail setting.
• At least 1 year bookkeeping or accounting experience including AP/AR/Collections.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
• Excellent verbal communication and professional etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable, audit and file vendor invoices per policy, and assist with collections.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close efficiently and on schedule.
• Verify deposits are accurate and posted timely.
• Upload/download handheld devices and process data as scheduled.
• Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone.
• Support front counter retail as needed.
• Maintain dealer database and assist with inventory counts.
• Follow driver program requirements as directed by management.
• All other duties as assigned.

Purpose Of Job

The Office Associate effectively operates the front desk position for the distributorship, including phones, paperwork, and general accounting. This role performs all administrative duties supporting distributor operations.

Job Components

• Accuratelymaintainaccounts payable and accounts receivable including auditing,payingand filing vendor invoices according tocompanypolicy and procedure,collections,preparing customer invoices, purchaseordersand delivery tickets accurately andtimely.

Qualifications

Scope Data

• Works under general supervision. Work receives regular review by Manager.

Work Environment

• Office environment but is also exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as moving equipment, mechanical parts,fumesor airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, depthperceptionand ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, hear, talk, and use hands to grasp and handle objects.
• Occasionallifting up to25lbs.Withoutassistance
• Ability to sustain extended periods of sitting, occasional standing and walkingthroughout the day
• Prolonged use of personalcomputerandtelephone
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required
• Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle
