Job summary

Volto Consulting is seeking a Hospital Operations Leader to provide on-site oversight during off-shifts in a New Jersey facility. You will supervise staffing, respond to emergencies, and ensure patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and the ability to coordinate across departments to maintain service excellence. Responsibilities include enforcing professional practice standards, safety initiatives, and cost-effective staffing

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of healthcare management experience.
• Positive communication skills.
• Experience with Quality initiatives, action plans, and auditing.
• Time management and multitasking skills to facilitate patient movement.
• Experience with Joint Commission preparation for disease specific certification.
• Proven ability to coach teams and provide opportunities to facilitate team work.
• MS Office experience.
• Problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Able to work with multiple departments.
• Superior interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Make rounds in patient care areas to assess needs and acuity; respond to emergencies.
• Handle incidents and operational issues; escalate and facilitate throughput.
• Serve as senior on-site authority during off shifts; make decisions until relieved.
• Ensure professional practice standards; maintain regulatory compliance.
• DOH reporting; oversee safety initiatives and regulatory adherence.
• Promote engagement, effective communication and collaboration.
• Identify cost-saving staffing adjustments to balance census and acuity.
• Communicate decisions to unit managers and align with department needs.
• Be a primary contact for patients, staff, visitors, and physicians.
• Provide real-time support and empathetic service recovery.
• Model service excellence; investigate complaints and document findings.
• Facilitate conflict resolution and escalate when needed.
• Perform additional admin responsibilities; participate in governance.
• Guide staff, act as liaison among nursing, managers, and on-call admins.
• Document significant events and staffing actions; report to leaders next business day.
• Flag quality and safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Counsel and document personnel issues; follow up with managers.
• Coordinate emergency code responses and nursing staff assignments.
• Recognize excellence; assist with bed transfers and hospital-wide responses.
• Promote shared decision-making and professional autonomy via governance.
