Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a dedicated FPI Processor Technician for our Whitehall Casting Operation in Plant 3. This off-shift role focuses on nondestructive testing using fluorescent penetrant methods to detect surface defects and to mark castings for rework per customer requirements.

The position requires preparing castings for FPI, performing inspections per specifications, maintaining records, and supporting equipment setup, calibration, and training of new technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years of work experience; or six months manufacturing experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Perform nondestructive testing, utilizing fluorescent penetrant, on castings to detect surface defects and mark them for rework.
• Prepare castings for fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI).
• Perform FPI inspection per customers' specifications.
• Mark castings to indicate rework.
• Conduct shift daily, weekly, and monthly equipment checks.
• Maintain updated files for product criteria and activity instructions.
• Perform record keeping.
• Set up and calibrate equipment.
• Assist in training new technicians.
• Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
• Must be available to work all shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and weekend-crew)
