Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in civil litigation.
• Legal research, drafting pleadings/motions, taking and defending depositions, discovery work and trial prep.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Willingness to travel locally for court appearances, mediations and depositions.
• Admission to the California Bar is required.
• Experience across general liability, professional liability, products liability, employment and related areas is valued.
• A collegial team player with strong professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions and related documents.
• Take and defend depositions; draft and respond to discovery requests; assist trial prep.
• Coordinate with clients and colleagues to manage complex civil litigation matters.
• Communicate information clearly to clients; manage expectations and provide updates.
• Travel locally for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations and site inspections.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in civil litigation
• This role requires legal research, drafting of pleadings motions and other documents, taking and defending depositions, drafting and answering discovery requests, trial preparation and trial assistance. Experience with both state and federal courts preferred
• This position also requires the ability to communicate with both clients and colleagues in an effective manner
• This position will require some local travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections and depositions
• Admission to the state bar of California is required
• National law practice with a collegial team with low turnover
