Responsibilities

  • Execute corporate commodity strategies for OEM machinery purchasing, installation, commissioning, and related services contractor sourcing.
  • Identify, qualify, implement, rate, and audit OEM and mechanical service/installation suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and NDAs.
  • Manage parts, equipment, capital equipment, aftermarket parts, and service contracts within the commodity scope.

Job description

  • Execute corporate commodity strategies for OEM machinery purchasing and installation, commissioning, and related services contractor sourcing
  • Participate in and lead commodity strategy development and implementation initiatives
  • Identify, qualify, implement, rate, and audit OEM and mechanical service/installation suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, supply agreements, contracts, and NDAs
  • Manage parts, equipment, capital equipment, aftermarket parts, and service contracts within the assigned commodity scope
  • Participate in cross-functional teams across Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance
  • Research commodity and market practices and drive cost reduction and competitive sourcing
  • Develop and implement plant and corporate commodity strategies
  • Develop and monitor the supply base and supplier performance
  • Secure delivery dates during escalations and handle claims and invoice deviations
  • Plan, execute, and follow up on supplier meetings and negotiations
  • Backfill business-unit buyers as needed
  • Create local spend analyses and consolidate them into group reporting
  • Support benchmarking, total cost of ownership analysis, negotiations, and contract management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma with at least 5 years of related business experience
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years in a purchasing environment with commodity responsibility
  • Knowledge of SAP Applications, Power BI, and MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of business administration and policies, directives, guidelines, and standards
