Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a responsive Sourcing Manager to develop and execute sourcing strategies for a key mechanical commodity, partnering with a global leader. You will drive cost productivity, cash flow optimization, and robust supplier management across the full contract lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Finance, engineering, and logistics teams to realize savings, ensure on-time supplier selection, and align procurement with global sourcing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in sourcing, operations, or supply chain.
• 3+ years of commercial experience in sourcing, sales, operations, engineering, or supply chain.
• Experience in energy, power generation, or industrial manufacturing preferred.
• Strong data analysis capabilities preferred.
• Strong project management in a matrixed environment preferred.
• Experience collaborating with logistics and commercial teams on capacity/localization.
• ERP systems experience; SAP preferred.
• Fluent in English; US work authorization.
• Drug screen as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategy for the assigned mechanical commodity with the global commodity leader.
• Lead end-to-end supplier management: selection, qualification, development, and full contract lifecycle from RFP to supplier exit.
• Negotiate contracts and drive cost reduction through savings opportunities and cost controls.
• Collaborate with Finance to validate cost-reduction impact on the general ledger.
• Build technical and market expertise in the commodity area.
• Monitor global supply market trends, regional capacity dynamics, and supplier capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering, Supplier Quality Engineers, fulfillment, logistics, and project teams.
• Ensure suppliers are selected on time and equipment meets project requirements.
• Optimize procurement processes and align with global sourcing initiatives.
• Improve the experience for internal customers and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience in a sourcing, operations, or supply chain role
• Minimum 3 years of commercial experience in sourcing, sales, operations, engineering, and/or supply chain
• Prior sourcing experience in the energy, power generation, or industrial manufacturing sector preferred
• Strong data analysis capabilities preferred
• Strong project management skills and a track record of delivering results in a matrixed environment preferred
• Strong experience working with logistics and commercial teams to manage regional capacity and localization requirements preferred
• Proficiency in ERP systems; SAP preferred
• Fluency in English
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
