Job summary

CTL Engineering is seeking ODOT prequalified Inspectors to serve Central Ohio roadway and bridge projects. The role focuses on construction administration, inspection, testing and quality control, with opportunities for travel within the Central Ohio region.

The position emphasizes independent work under the direction of a Department Manager, with potential for a vehicle stipend or company vehicle depending on assignment.

Qualifications

• ODOT prequalified inspectors include Project Inspector 1 or 2, Structures Inspector, Soils and Aggregate Inspector, Traffic Signal and Lighting Inspector, Construction Engineer Level 1.
• Experience with highway construction specifications and knowledge of ODOT standards is required or a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications on roadway and bridge projects.
• Read project drawings, specifications, blueprints and perform construction administration and inspection services.
• Inspect construction to ensure contractor compliance with state specs, plans and proposals.
• Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.
• Notify the Project Engineer with status updates or non-conforming work.
• Conduct quality control testing at project sites (concrete, soils, asphalt, aggregate, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer or Project Manager.
