Job summary

United Surgical Partners International is seeking a PRN Pain Registered Nurse to support our Pain Center recovery areas in Oklahoma City. The role focuses on pre-operative care, pain management, and recovery, ensuring patient safety and education throughout procedures.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of hospital nursing experience, PACU or pain management exposure, and an Oklahoma RN license with BLS/ACLS/PALS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures and align with hospital policies
• Administer and monitor pain management interventions
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications, effects, and outcomes

PRN Pain Registered Nurse

About the Role

OCOM is seeking a skilled and compassionate PRN Pain Registered Nurse to support our Pain Center recovery areas. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the pre-operative and recovery process. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is confident in pain management, post-procedural care, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Operative & Pain Management Care

• Prepare patients for procedures in accordance with hospital policies

• Administer and monitor pain management interventions

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of medications, including actions, side effects, and expected outcomes

• Assess patients and ensure admission criteria are met

• Provide clear education to patients and families regarding procedures and expectations

• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR

• Respond promptly to emergency situations using ACLS/PALS protocols

• Maintain supplies, medication safety, and equipment readiness

Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required prior to clinical start

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of hospital nursing experience preferred

• Experience in PACU, Phase II, or pain management strongly preferred
