Job summary

OCOM is seeking a Surgical Registered Nurse in Oklahoma City to join a dedicated operating room team. You will provide direct nursing care throughout surgical procedures, from prep to post-op, upholding the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.

The role emphasizes peri-operative support, adherence to infection control, and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and staff. A strong focus on teamwork and patient advocacy is required.

Qualifications

• Active Oklahoma RN license required.
• BCLS required; ACLS for conscious sedation; PALS preferred.
• Completion of conscious sedation test.
• Ability to stand for long periods in the OR.

Responsibilities

• Assist in peri-operative patient care
• Set up the OR per surgeon preference cards and ensure supplies
• Verify patient identity, procedure, and surgical site before transport
• Support anesthesia providers before, during, and after procedures
• Maintain infection control standards and hospital policies
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation
• Communicate with patients, families, and the surgical team
• Respond to emergencies and ensure proper operation of OR equipment

Your Role as a Surgical Registered Nurse

As a Surgical Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing direct nursing care to patients throughout their surgical procedures. You will ensure that everything in the OR runs smoothly, from preparation to post-operative care, while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and care of patients during the peri-operative period.
• Set up the OR using surgeon preference cards and ensure all necessary supplies are available.

• Maintain scrupulous infection control standards and adhere to hospital policies.
