Job summary

OCOM is seeking a Surgical Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care throughout surgical procedures and ensure the OR operates smoothly from prep to post-op.

You will protect patient safety, assist anesthesia, and uphold infection control standards in a fast-paced setting with a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Oklahoma RN license required.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS certification for conscious sedation.
• PALS preferred.
• Conscious sedation test completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the peri-operative period and patient care.
• Set up the OR per surgeon preferences and ensure supplies.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, and site before transport to OR.

Your Role as a Surgical Registered Nurse

As a Surgical Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing direct nursing care to patients throughout their surgical procedures. You will ensure that everything in the OR runs smoothly, from preparation to post-operative care, while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and care of patients during the peri-operative period.
• Set up the OR using surgeon preference cards and ensure all necessary supplies are available.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, and surgical site before transport to the OR.
• Support anesthesia providers before, during, and after procedures.
• Maintain scrupulous infection control standards and adhere to hospital policies.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the surgical team.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure proper operation of OR equipment.

Qualifications:
