OCI’s differentiated architecture, multicloud capabilities, distributed cloud offerings, and enterprise‑grade services position Oracle as a strategic partner for customers navigating their cloud transformation journeys.

Position Overview

Oracle is seeking a highly accomplished OCI Cloud Architect to join the North America Cloud Engineering organization. This strategic customer‑facing role is focused on helping Oracle identify, develop, and win high‑impact cloud opportunities, with particular emphasis on greenfield and pursuit accounts where customers are evaluating cloud modernization, infrastructure transformation, multicloud strategies, or new platform investments.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, sales teams, and Oracle leadership while helping open new opportunities, shape customer cloud strategies, and advance strategic pursuits from early discovery through technical win and customer adoption. This individual will work closely with sales to penetrate target accounts, build technical credibility with executive and practitioner audiences, uncover customer pain points, and design compelling Oracle Cloud Infrastructure solutions aligned to business outcomes.

This role is well suited for a customer‑focused technical leader with experience in pre‑sales cloud architecture, enterprise architecture, solution engineering, technical consulting, DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or architecture roles supporting mission‑critical environments. The ideal candidate brings the ability to translate deep technical expertise into customer value, influence complex buying teams, and help customers build confidence in OCI as a strategic cloud platform.

As a recognized technical leader, the OCI Cloud Architect will influence customer cloud strategies, support Oracle’s largest and most strategic pursuits, and help customers realize the full value of OCI’s infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with sales teams to identify, qualify, penetrate, and advance strategic OCI opportunities across greenfield and pursuit accounts.
  • Help develop account‑entry strategies, technical pursuit plans, and customer engagement approaches that create momentum in new or underpenetrated accounts.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, Infrastructure Leaders, Cloud Centers of Excellence, DevOps leaders, platform engineering teams, security leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer business objectives, existing environments, modernization priorities, operational challenges, competitive cloud considerations, and cloud adoption initiatives.
  • Identify customer pain points, technical blockers, business drivers, and transformation opportunities that can be addressed through OCI’s cloud infrastructure, platform services, distributed cloud, and multicloud capabilities.
  • Architect and present innovative OCI solutions that address customer requirements while demonstrating Oracle’s technical, operational, financial, and business differentiation.
  • Develop executive‑level presentations, solution architectures, technical proposals, migration strategies, modernization roadmaps, proof‑of‑value plans, and business value assessments.
  • Serve as the technical lead for strategic pursuits, coordinating cross‑functional Oracle resources to support complex customer engagements and accelerate technical wins.
  • Design enterprise‑scale cloud architectures spanning compute, storage, networking, security, containers, databases, AI services, observability, disaster recovery, automation, hybrid cloud, and multicloud environments.
  • Lead customer workshops, architecture reviews, proof‑of‑concepts, technical deep dives, whiteboarding sessions, and solution validation activities.
  • Help customers evaluate cloud migration strategies, application modernization initiatives, operating model changes, DevOps practices, and hybrid or multicloud architectures.
  • Position OCI’s unique capabilities, including distributed cloud offerings, sovereign cloud, multicloud partnerships, enterprise‑grade performance, security, availability, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, Consulting, Partners, and Sales organizations to ensure successful customer outcomes from initial pursuit through adoption.
  • Provide competitive intelligence, market insights, customer feedback, and field observations to influence Oracle’s product strategy and go‑to‑market initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced solution engineers, architects, and technical contributors while promoting technical excellence across the organization.
Year One Critical Success Factors
  • Establish credibility as a trusted technical advisor with customers, Oracle sales teams, and cross‑functional cloud stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships across Cloud Engineering, Sales, Product Management, Customer Success, Engineering, Consulting, and Partner organizations.
  • Demonstrate mastery of OCI services, architectures, competitive positioning, greenfield pursuit motions, and Oracle’s cloud value proposition.

  • Build executive and technical relationships within key target accounts and become a recognized subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure, modernization, and enterprise transformation.
