People Freight | Freight Forwarding & Logistics Recruitment Specialists is seeking an Ocean Export Agent in Bensenville, IL with a hybrid work schedule. The role involves managing shipments from booking through delivery while delivering outstanding customer service.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in ocean export freight forwarding, strong FCL/LCL knowledge, AES filings experience, and excellent communication. CargoWise experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of ocean export freight forwarding experience.
• Strong knowledge of FCL, LCL, export documentation, and AES filings.
• Experience with international freight forwarders preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end ocean export shipments, including FCL & LCL.
• Book cargo with ocean carriers and overseas agents.
• Prepare and review export documentation (BOLs, AES, invoices, packing lists).
• Arrange trucking, vessel bookings, and shipment scheduling.
• Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Communicate with carriers, vendors, overseas offices, and customers.
• Ensure compliance with export regulations and company procedures.
• Resolve shipment issues and maintain records in the forwarding system.

This hybrid opportunity is ideal for an experienced ocean export professional with strong FCL/LCL knowledge who enjoys managing shipments from booking through final delivery while providing exceptional customer service.

• Salary: Up to $72,000

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end ocean export shipments, including FCL & LCL
• Book cargo with ocean carriers and overseas agents
• Prepare and review export documentation, including BOLs, AES, commercial invoices, and packing lists
• Arrange trucking, vessel bookings, and shipment scheduling
• Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers
• Communicate with carriers, vendors, overseas offices, and customers
• Ensure compliance with export regulations and company procedures
• Resolve shipment issues and maintain accurate records in the freight forwarding system

Requirements

• 2+ years of ocean export freight forwarding experience
• Strong knowledge of FCL, LCL, export documentation, and AES filings
• Previous experience working for an international freight forwarder
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments
• CargoWise or similar freight forwarding system experience preferred
