Job summary

GEODIS is seeking an Account Representative – Ocean Export to coordinate and execute shipments ensuring service levels for clients. You will edit export orders, prepare invoices and export documents, arrange shipments, and monitor regulatory requirements.

The role requires 3+ years in exportation, strong communication, and MS Office proficiency. It offers on-site work with benefits including health, 401k, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in exportation or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Letters of Credit preferred.
• Knowledge of ocean freight movement.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Access and Excel.
• Strong reading, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives and edits export orders.
• Prepares documents such as commercial invoices, export declarations, origin certificates, letters of credit.
• Prepares export documents timely and accurately per customs and customer requirements.
• Arranges shipments with carriers.
• Reviews domestic and foreign trade regulations.
• Communicates with vendors, government agencies, and customers.
• Coordinates with Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintains SOP manual for international export requirements per customer.
• Maintains organized monthly files by customer for all international shipments.
• Provides clerical support including sorting faxes and documents to team members.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Your role on the team:

The Account Representative -Ocean Export is responsible for coordinating and executing shipments to ensure adequate service levels of clients are met. This position supports the company's day to day functions and is the direct liaison for assigned shipments.

Job Duties

• Receives and edits export orders


• Prepares all necessary documents such as commercial invoices, export declarations, certificate of origin, letters of credit


• Prepares international export documents timely and accurately according to custom's and customer's requirements.


• Arranges shipments through shipper's contracted carriers


• Reviews pertinent domestic and foreign trade regulations


• Communicates with vendors, government agencies, customer


• Coordinates with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction is met


• Maintains SOP manual of international export requirements for each customer and updates as necessary


• Maintains organized files monthly by customer for all international shipments


• Provides clerical support including:sorting of faxes and documents and distribution of those documentsto team members


• Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor

What you need:

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency


• Minimum 3 years experience in exportation of goods or an equivalent combination of both education and experience.


• Knowledge of Letters of Credit preferred


• Knowledge of the movement of freight via ocean


• PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Work, Access and Excel


• Ability to read and interpret documents


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required


• Ability to multi task


• Mathematical skills essential to ensure accuracy in pricing
