Job summary

Mercy Health’s Willard Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide patient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will document progress in the patient record and help implement treatment programs across inpatients, outpatients, pediatrics, and off-site locations.

Responsibilities include delivering age-appropriate interventions, maintaining concise records, collaborating with the health team, and assisting in assessments of daily living

Qualifications

• Licensed OTA in the state of current practice.
• BLS Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist and monitors response to treatment.
• Maintains accurate records on treatment provided and patient’s progress.
• Observes and reports patients’ responses to treatment and progress and reports to the Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborates with Occupational Therapist and other health team members to coordinate treatment plans.
• Assists in assessment of client’s daily living skills and capabilities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
• Designs and adapts equipment in working/living environment.
