Shawnee Gardens Healthcare & Rehab Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support occupational therapists with treatments and plan development. The role involves direct patient care, documenting progress, and contributing to care plans under state guidelines.

You will select activities, instruct patients and families, and help clients function independently through therapy and adaptive equipment. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities to match patient needs and track progress.
• Collaborate with other health care professionals involved in patient care.
• Instruct patients and families in home programs and adaptive equipment use.
• Assist therapists with treatment plans to help clients function independently.
• Assess daily living skills and aid patients in dressing and grooming.
• Maintain and sanitize equipment and materials for patient use.
• Demonstrate therapy techniques and activities.
• Contribute to care plan meetings and update progress.
