Job summary

Shawnee Post Acute & Rehabilitation Center in Overland Park, KS is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our in-house therapy team. You will provide rehabilitative interventions under an Occupational Therapist, including ADL retraining and therapeutic activities, and help patients regain function in a geriatric post-acute setting.

We welcome candidates with varying levels of experience who hold the appropriate state license/registration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Hold a current and active State license/registration where applicable.
• Candidates with all levels of experience are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions under Occupational Therapist supervision.
• Administer rehab procedures, including ADL retraining and therapeutic activities, with supervision.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments.
• Report treatment outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

Shawnee Post Acute & Rehabilitation Center is a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric outpatient services provided. We can offer a stable and fun in-house therapy team to work with as well as excellent programs serving our geriatric clientele in their journey to recovery. We are seeking a Full Time Occupational Therapy Assistantto join our in-house therapy team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders, following regulatory and clinical standards under Occupational Therapist supervision.
• Administer various rehabilitation procedures, including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and the use of supportive and assistive devices, under Occupational Therapist supervision.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• Report treatment outcomes' effectiveness to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
