Job summary

Highland Place Rehab and Nursing is seeking a Credentialed Occupational Therapist Assistant to perform occupational therapy programs under the supervision of an occupational therapist. The role involves assisting in daily living and pre-vocational skills, instructing patients, observing progress, and documenting outcomes.

Responsibilities include evaluating daily living skills, adapting equipment, guiding home programs for patients and families, and maintaining infection control and safety

Qualifications

• Credentialed OTA program graduate and national certification.
• Licensed in the practicing state if required.
• Prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform occupational therapy programs under supervision.
• Assist in administering programs for daily living and vocational skills.
• Instruct and motivate patients to improve functional skills.
• Observe treatments and report progress to the supervising OT.
• Evaluate daily living skills and determine abilities/limitations.
• Design and adapt equipment and living environments as needed.
• Instruct patients and families in home programs and use of adaptive equipment.
• Document patient progress toward goals.
• Maintain good relations with patients and families, and adhere to patient rights.
• Follow infection control precautions and safety policies.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and billing records.
• Attend seminars to maintain licensure and participate in staff meetings.
