Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating patients’ physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and in planning treatment to improve daily living activities.

You will implement individualized treatments to retrain and teach compensatory strategies for residual disability, support discharge planning with home programs, and ensure accurate documentation of care and progress.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assist required.
• No experience required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months.
• Occupational Therapy Assistant license required by the state of Wisconsin.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating patients’ abilities and daily living activities.
• Implement treatment to retrain compensatory techniques for residual disability.
• Plan discharge with home programs and family teaching.
• Complete documentation including progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing records.
• Maintain a clean, safe treatment area and handle equipment as directed.
