Job summary

Total Care Therapy is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our growing team in Canal Winchester, OH. You will work with a licensed OT to help residents improve mobility, independence and quality of life in assisted living and independent living settings.

Responsibilities include delivering ADL/IADL-focused therapy, monitoring progress, documenting in EMR, and educating residents and caregivers.

Qualifications

• State PTA license required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living or SNF preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred, but potential considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled OTA treatments under the supervision of a licensed OT according to care plans.
• Deliver activities to improve ADLs/IADLs, upper extremity function, balance and mobility.
• Monitor progress, document in EMR, and communicate changes to the OT.
• Educate residents and caregivers on safety, equipment and energy conservation.
• Collaborate with therapists and interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.
• Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering high-quality services.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work alongside a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that helps residents improve mobility, increase strength, restore function, and maintain their independence.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist according to established plans of care.
• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), upper extremity function, coordination, balance, strength, cognition, and functional independence.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, home safety, fall prevention, and strategies to maximize independence.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering compassionate, high-quality occupational therapy services.

Director of Rehabilitation Responsibilities

• Act as the main liaison between leadership and the facility.
• Oversee staff performance and support professional development.
• Manage administrative and operational tasks across therapy services.
• Coordinate meetings, training, and events for staff and residents.
• Maintain communication with residents, families, and leadership.
• Drive referrals for all disciplines

Qualifications

• Current State Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License
• Current CPR/BLS Certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
• Previous experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or Director of Rehabilitation experience preferred, but leadership potential will be considered
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
