Job summary

Total Care Therapy is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our growing team in Worthington, OH. You will work under a licensed OT to help residents improve mobility, independence, and quality of life in assisted living and independent living communities.

As a full-time OTA, you’ll participate in a patient-centered care plan, document progress in an EMR, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current State Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) License.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
• Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist and according to the established plan of care.
• Implement therapeutic activities and interventions that promote independence with ADLs/IADLs, upper extremity function, coordination, strength, balance, and cognitive skills.
• Assist residents in improving functional performance, safety, and independence through individualized treatment approaches.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Accurately complete documentation and treatment notes using an EMR system.
• Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, home safety, fall prevention, and strategies to maximize independence.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain a full clinical caseload while providing compassionate, high-quality occupational therapy services.

About the Role

In this role, you will work alongside a licensed occupational therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that helps residents improve mobility, increase strength, restore function, and maintain their independence.

• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain a full clinical caseload while providing compassionate, high-quality occupational therapy services.
