Job summary

Total Care Therapy in Powell, OH seeks a compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our growing team. You will work with a licensed OT to deliver patient-centered care, helping residents improve mobility and independence while maintaining dignity and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Geriatrics experience in clinical settings.
• CPR/BLS certification current and valid.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed OT.
• Plan and implement ADL/IADL activities, upper-extremity function, balance, and cognition interventions.
• Help residents improve independence and safety in daily tasks.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising OT.
• Complete EMR documentation and treatment notes accurately.
• Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment and safety practices.
• Collaborate with OTs and interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
• Maintain a full clinical caseload with compassionate, patient-centered care.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work alongside a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that helps residents improve mobility, increase strength, restore function, and maintain their independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist and according to the established plan of care.
• Implement therapeutic activities and interventions that promote independence with activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), upper extremity function, coordination, strength, balance, and cognitive skills.
• Assist residents in improving functional performance, safety, and independence through individualized treatment approaches.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Accurately complete documentation and treatment notes using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, home safety, fall prevention, and strategies to maximize independence.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain a full clinical caseload while providing compassionate, high-quality occupational therapy services.

Qualifications

• Current State Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) License
• Current CPR/BLS Certification
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
• Previous experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing is preferred but not required
