Job summary

Total Care Therapy in Plain City, OH is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to support a licensed Occupational Therapist in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

You will help residents improve mobility, independence, and safety within assisted living and independent living settings, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team across Central Ohio.

Qualifications

• Current State OTA license.
• CPR/BLS certification current.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed OT and per plan of care.
• Implement activities and interventions to promote independence in ADLs/IADLs, upper extremity function, strength, balance and cognition.
• Assist residents in improving functional performance, safety and independence with individualized treatment.
• Monitor progress and communicate changes to the supervising OT.
• Complete documentation and treatment notes in an EMR system.
• Educate residents/caregivers on adaptive equipment, energy conservation, home safety and fall prevention.
• Collaborate with OTs and interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
• Maintain a full clinical caseload delivering high-quality OT services.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work alongside a licensed

Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that helps residents improve mobility, increase strength, restore function, and maintain

their independence.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist and according to the established plan of care.

Implement therapeutic activities and interventions that promote independence with activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), upper extremity function, coordination, strength, balance, and cognitive skills.

Assist residents in improving functional performance, safety, and independence through individualized treatment approaches.

Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

Accurately complete documentation and treatment notes using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, home safety, fall prevention, and strategies to maximize independence.

Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Maintain a full clinical caseload while providing compassionate, high-quality occupational therapy services.

Qualifications

Current State Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) License

Current CPR/BLS Certification

Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

Previous experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing is preferred but not required
