Job summary

Open Arms Care is seeking an Occupational Therapist in Memphis, TN to evaluate clients using interviews, medical records, and specialized testing to guide care. You will assess strength, ROM, coordination, cognition and living skills, and contribute to an individualized plan of care.

Join an interdisciplinary team, provide initial assessments within 21 days of admission, educate clients and Direct Support Professionals, document progress, and stay current with rehab developments.

Qualifications

• Current state OT license required.
• CPR required.
• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or accredited Bachelor’s with sufficient field experience.
• Ability to speak, read, write and communicate effectively.
• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate clients referred for occupational therapy according to standards and regulators.
• Provide timely Occupational Therapy Assessments and recommendations to the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide initial Occupational Therapy Assessments within 21 days of new client admission.
• Educate clients and Direct Support Professionals on occupational therapy needs.
• Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to identify OT needs of clients.
• Advocate for clients’ OT needs within the team framework.
• Develop individualized care plans with short and long-term goals.
• Administer and monitor OT treatment, modifying plans as needed.
• Document treatment and outcomes in accordance with regulations.
• Schedule clients for therapy sessions coordinating with space and equipment.
• Monitor and communicate client outcomes, satisfaction and safety.
