Job summary

Open Arms Care Corporation in Memphis, TN is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a part-time role to provide patient-centered therapy in accordance with regulatory guidelines. You will evaluate, plan, implement and document OT services for diverse clients and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include initial assessments within 21 days of admission, ongoing education for clients and Direct Support Professionals, and adapting plans of care based on client progress.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or Bachelor’s degree with sufficient field experience.
• Current state OT license and CPR certification are required.
• Strong communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Treat clients with dignity in a professional, considerate manner.
• Evaluate clients referred for OT using professional standards and test procedures.
• Provide timely OT assessments and recommendations to the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide initial OT assessments within 21 days of new client admission.
• Educate clients and Direct Support Professionals on OT needs.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify OT needs.
• Advocate for clients’ OT needs within the team framework.
• Develop a plan of care with short and long term goals.
• Administer OT treatment and monitor client response.
• Document treatment, progress, and outcomes per regulations.

Education

Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (with sufficient field experience)

Current state OT license

CPR certification

Strong communication skills (spoken and written)

Detail-oriented

Ability to work independently
