Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an Occupational Therapist to provide effective and efficient OT services to patients in the Spinal Cord Injury Unit and Outpatient General Rehabilitation at MEDVAMC.

The role is administratively and clinically supervised by the Spinal Cord Injury Supervisory Therapist, Supervisory Rehabilitation Therapist, Rehabilitation Director, and Rehabilitation and Extended Care Line Executive.

Qualifications

• Citizenship requirement: U.S. citizen (with exceptions for certain non-citizens as allowed by law).
• Education and/or Experience options include: Bachelor’s degree in OT with 2 years of experience; or 2 years of graduate education in a related field; or Master’s degree or higher in OT.
• NBCOT certification required.
• State licensure required (full, current and unrestricted).
• Graduate OT exceptions may apply with temporary appointment and supervision.
• ACOTE accreditation recognized by US DoE and CHEA.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to patients referred in the Spinal Cord Injury Unit and Outpatient General Rehabilitation.
• Administrative and clinical supervision by the Spinal Cord Injury Supervisory Therapist, Supervisory Rehabilitation Therapist, Rehabilitation Director, and Rehab/EC Line Executive.

Education

Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy

Two years of graduate education in related field

Master's degree or higher in occupational therapy

ACOTE-approved program completion
