Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess patients, develop and implement plans of care, and coordinate OT services with the healthcare team. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

The role requires licensure as an Occupational Therapist and BLS at minimum, with strong communication skills and leadership abilities to support discharge planning and inter-departmental collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist is required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association is required or obtained during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessment.
• Establishes plan of care.
• Provides care according to physicians' orders and plan of care.
• Assesses educational needs of patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provides education.
• Plans for discharge.
• Communicates with patient, family, caregivers and healthcare team.
• Assesses effectiveness of treatment and modifies as needed.
• Assists coordinator in coordinating OT into inter-departmental services.
• Exhibits leadership in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating OT functions.
