Job summary

BSA Health System is seeking a full-time Outpatient Therapy Occupational Therapist (OT) in Amarillo, TX. You will assess, plan, and provide rehabilitative services to patients of all ages, aiming to improve independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities include evaluating abilities, creating individualized plans, educating patients and families, and coordinating with an interdisciplinary team. A demanding but rewarding role in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• NBCOT certification.
• State licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and provide rehabilitative services to patients of all ages to improve independence in daily living and work activities.
• Evaluate physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities using standardized assessments and clinical observation.
• Identify barriers to performing ADLs and establish goals for therapy.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
• Utilize therapeutic techniques, exercises, and interventions to enhance functional abilities.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic strategies to improve function and maintain progress at home.
• Provide guidance on adapting home and work environments to meet patients’ needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate progress and recommendations to physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in case conferences and team meetings to coordinate patient care.
• Ensure all services comply with professional standards, state and federal regulations, and ethical guidelines.
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment for patients and staff.
