Job summary

BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX, is seeking a day shift, full-time Occupational Therapist for acute inpatient care. Responsibilities include assessing patients of all ages, planning and delivering rehabilitation, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications require a degree in OT, NBCOT certification, Texas OT license, and BLS within 14 days of hire. Sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• NBCOT certification.
• Texas State licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and provide rehabilitative and therapeutic services to patients of all ages, focusing on greater independence in daily living and work activities.
• Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities using standardized assessments and clinical observation.
• Identify barriers to activities of daily living (ADLs) and establish goals for therapy.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
• Utilize therapeutic techniques, exercises, and interventions to enhance patients’ functional abilities.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic strategies to improve function and maintain progress at home.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate progress and recommendations to physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
